Style Edit - Rainbow Trend

After polyvore's sudden disappearance I've been rather lacking in inspiration style wise, however I've seen a lot of multi-coloured and rainbow stripes featured on insta at the moment, particularly this beaut Zara jumper. Also I've been scrolling a lot of sites and picked out a few of my favourite rainbow items to brighten up your week :-)

Food - Raspberry and Coconut Loaf

So I made this delightful loaf for mother's day a couple of weeks ago, it went down well especially with my brother! The recipe is taken from the coop but I added a little extra with fresh raspberries and the pink icing. Makes a nice change from chocolate or banana bread that have become my signature bakes!

150 g unsalted butter

250 g self-raising flour

150 g golden caster sugar

4 tbsp (70 ml) semi-skimmed milk

3 eggs (I used large)

1 tsp vanilla extract

100 g desiccated coconut

6 tbsp raspberry jam

handful of fresh raspberries

80 g icing sugar

2 tsp raspberry jam

2 tbsp desiccated coconut

Magic in the method

Preheat your oven to 180°C/fan 160°C/Gas 4

Grease and line a 2 lb loaf tin, beat the butter, sugar and vanilla together until light and fluffy, using a hand whisk or an electric whisk like I did.

Then beat in the eggs separately with a bit of the flour each time.

Fold in the raspberries and coconut, with the rest of the flour and milk.

Pour in three quarters of the mix in the tin, add the raspberry jam and the rest of the mix on the top.

Bake for around 35 minutes, cover with foil and bake for a further 20-25 minutes when a knife comes out clean from the middle.

Mix the icing sugar with the jam and add 1-2 tsp of warm water to make the icing nice and smooth.

When cool drizzle the icing over the top with a sprinkling of the coconut as well.

Travel - Weekend in York

So a couple of weeks ago some of my friends and I went to visit York for a kind of birthday weekend/end of exams celebration! I'm lucky too one of my school friends lives in York so she showed us all the sights. We got the train there which is a nice short journey so no excuse not to go again sometime. This time obviously I took quite a few pictures which I've shared below. So first off we went to the minster, which is quite impressive, I kinda of like Gothic style buildings as well. You can go up on the roof too and see the city from up high. Then walked around for a bit and went for lunch at the Cosy Club which is actually super cosy! Had a lovely brunch/lunch and a really good fresh juice. Later on we went to the Botanist for dinner and cocktails which was great I love the florally themed interior and drinks, I went for the peach and apple pot, rhubarb and gin, and a botanist pornstar. Would recommend if your looking for a birthday or something a little special for drinks with a twist, I think they have quite a few around the UK.

What do you do to celebrate special occasions/where's your favourite place for a weekend away? xxx

Style Edit - New Years Outfit Ideas

Well 2018 is almost here, seems like only a few months ago I did a new years outfit ideas post. I'm still loving velvet at the moment so these outfit feature a lot of it, also those star print trousers are just amasing! Think I've got nearly every kind of new years party covered too, from a glam party to a more causal house party kind of thing.
